Phil Slate

Position: Senior Superintendent - Employed Since 1992

Phil Slate is a Superintendent with American Constructors. Phil has over 35 years of experience in the construction industry, including work as a Laborer, Apprentice Carpenter, Carpenter, Assistant Superintendent and Superintendent. Phil received his High School Diploma from Madison High School and graduated from the ABC Building Trades School. Phil is also a U.S. Green Building Council LEED Green Associate.

In his years with American Constructors, Phil has overseen the successful completion of over $80 million of construction in Middle Tennessee and the southeastern United States. Significant projects include over 50 laboratory projects at Vanderbilt University and Vanderbilt University Medical Center, St. Philip Catholic Church, Tullahoma High School Auditorium Renovation, and several projects at Trevecca Nazarene University including two phases at the Adams Building, a renovation to McClurken Hall and the Cadaver Lab Renovation. He is recently completed a 70,500 SF Addition and 140,000 SF Renovation at Martin Luther King, Jr. Academic Magnet High School for Metro Nashville Public Schools.  Phil is currently building a ground up 45,000 SF church facility for Stephens Valley Church

Phil and his wife, Diana reside in Robertson County and have two children, Toby and Tabitha, and four grandchildren, Dakota, Tuff, Ty and Sircy.
